• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Experience with Cisco routers, switches, PIX firewalls.
• Experience with Routing Protocols - OSPF, BGP
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills & strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Perl and scripting skills a major plus. | Qualification: Work with Senior Network Engineers as well as customers to implement network projects, troubleshoot and resolve reported issues, and monitor IP networks by performing the following duties:
• Assists in the creation of processes and procedures for network operations.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance of network related equipment.
• Provides network performance monitoring and analysis.
• Implements routine network changes, additions, and reconfigurations.
• Contributes to development and administration of network backup and recovery plan to maintain LAN/WAN network systems operation.
• Identifies and corrects faults and provides resolution of network-related problem tickets escalated from the help desk.
• Troubleshoots routers, switches, and firewalls on a network consisting primarily of Juniper and Cisco hardware.
• Works with customers to design, implement, and troubleshoot custom firewall and VPN solutions to meet their needs.
• Troubleshoots protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and spanning-tree.
• Escalates unresolved issues to Senior Network Engineers.
• Participates in rotating on-call schedule and occasional late-night network maintenance events.
